Anatomy and Physiology: This course is designed to be an introductory course in human anatomy and physiology. Students will be provided with a basic understanding of the structure and functions of the human body with an emphasis on homeostasis. The organ systems covered are the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive systems. Each unit contains a focus on wellness to increase the student’s appreciation of the relevance of the maintenance of good health to the concepts of the anatomy and physiology presented in class. Additionally, clinical applications are presented to explore the clinical, professional, or everyday relevance of a particular anatomical structure or its related function.
